Klincksieck

Since its founding in Paris by Friedrich Klincksieck in 1842, publishing house Klincksieck has been questioning works of ART and aesthetic experience, giving rise to a rich catalog in the fields of theory and history of art —from Antiquity to nowadays, from graphic to performing arts.

Klincksieck has become the indispensable French publisher of the thinkers of the Frankfurt School and of the heirs of the Critical Theory, both in the field of political PHILOSOPHY and aesthetics.

In the nineteenth century, natural history was an important part of the publications of the "Librairie Klincksieck". In recent years, Klincksieck has reintroduced BOOKS OF NATURE into its publications. A gaze at nature and at the works inspired by it.

With more than 150 years of activity, Klincksieck has a rich catalogue of BACKLIST TITLES, mainly editions of texts, works of historical linguistics (Antoine Meillet, Pierre Chantraine, Alfred Ernout) and literary criticism.
